Melbourne, Australia

G'day mates! I spent the last week in Melbourne, Australia, and it was a lot of fun. Here's a picture of me on the South bank of the Yarra River (not visible) with part of the Melbourne skyline in the background.

Little did I know, but it is currently winter in Australia. Weird, huh? And I always thought that Australia only had nice weather. As you can see from the picture, I definitely didn't dress appropriately for the cold.

One night we went to a "Footy" (Australian Rules Football) match -- North Melbourne vs. Carlton. It was really cool and seemed like a mix of rugby, football and soccer. That's me in the picture below -- I know it's hard to tell, but trust me!

Devin and I sat in the upper deck with all the local North Melbourne blokes and they were a lot of fun. They used some interesting words that my parents won't let me say, but they definitely made the game more entertaining. And guess what...North Melbourne won!

Here's a picture of the wallpaper in the hotel room where we stayed over the weekend. It was located in a Melbourne suburb called South Yarra and was interesting to say the least.

According to Devin, all those people on the wallpaper were very famous rock musicians before he was even born. If you look really close, you can see me hiding to the right of some guy named Paul McCartney from the Beatles. I don't know that band, but I like their name.

Champéry, Switzerland

Yesterday I went to Champéry, Switzerland. It's a small Swiss mountain village that is perfect for snowboarding in the Winter and hiking in the summer. Here are a couple of pictures...

If you look carefully, you'll notice that I'm not in either picture. That is because my friend Devin forgot me in the car! Can you believe that!?! It was 80 degrees and he left me in the car to suffer while he enjoyed a nice day in the sun with his girlfriend. I was mad the whole drive home.

But don't worry...everything is okay now since he promised to take me to Melbourne, Australia this week! I'll be sure to upload some pictures ASAP!

Nice, France

This weekend I visited Nice, which is in the South of France by the Mediterranean Sea. The following is a picture of me enjoying a nice, sunny day at the beach. The city in the background is Menton, which is not far from the Italian border.

I got lost for a little bit while exploring Menton but finally found a sign to point me in the right direction...

On Saturday I took a long walk with my friends along the beach towards Monaco. Supposedly it's a country but it's actually not much bigger than Gig Harbor, the city where my good friend Tyler lives. During the walk I stopped to take a swim and the water was great. Much warmer than the Puget Sound!

Copenhagen, Denmark

I spent this weekend in Copenhagen, Denmark and it was a lot of fun. Here's a picture of me in Nyhavn, which is a 17th century waterfront district with lots of colorful townhouses and interesting ships.

The weather was rainy at times, so I stopped by the Danish history museum to stay warm. Don't tell, but I jumped up on a medieval horse to take a ride. If you look closely, you can see me in the picture.

On Saturday, we went to see the Little Mermaid statue. Apparently she was in Shanghai, China for Expo 2010 (her first vacation in nearly 100 years) so we didn't get to see the real thing. But the big screen tv in her place was pretty cool. In order to stay dry, I had to get a boost from my friend Emilie for this picture...

We also ate at a very famous restaurant called Noma that was actually just rated the top restaurant in the whole wide world (see link below the pictures).

I don't know what all the fuss about it was for, though. I'd much rather just have a nice cheeseburger! So I had Devin and his friends take me to another restaurant where I could get some REAL food.

By the time the following picture was taken, I had already eaten my burger and fries. And don't worry, that's apple cider in my glass!
